Small batch
Strawberry Matcha Smoothie
Fresh strawberries bring a fruity contrast to earthy matcha in this compact smoothie. A small amount of matcha is sufficient; adding too much makes the drink bitter.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Cold milk or unsweetened plant drink | 140ml |
| Fresh strawberries, quartered | 70g |
| Plain yogurt | 35g |
| Matcha powder | Quarter teaspoon |
| Maple syrup, optional | Half a teaspoon |
Method
- Mix the matcha into a tablespoon of the measured cold milk until it forms a smooth paste. Do not use hot water in a sealed portable blender.
- Add the remaining milk and yogurt to the bottle, then prepared strawberries and matcha mixture.
- Check the fill mark and blend according to the appliance instructions.
- Taste before deciding whether any extra sweetener is needed. Serve cold.
Make it your own: Use culinary or drinking-grade matcha from a reputable seller. Matcha contains caffeine; use a smaller quantity or choose another drink if caffeine is unsuitable for you.

For compact blending, add liquid first and cut firmer ingredients into smaller pieces. If the mixture is too thick to circulate, add a small splash of liquid and blend again.
