Citrus
Watermelon Lime Cooler
A juicy watermelon and lime cooler with an optional mint finish. A light, refreshing idea for a compact portable blender.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Watermelon, chilled, deseeded and diced | 130g |
| Cold water or coconut water | 60ml |
| Fresh lime juice | 1 to 2 tsp, to taste |
| Fresh mint, optional | 3 small leaves |

Method
- Chill the watermelon, remove the rind and any large seeds, then cut the flesh into small pieces.
- Add the water first, then watermelon, lime juice and mint. Check the maximum fill line before blending.
- Secure the blender as directed in its manual and blend until smooth.
- Taste and add a little more lime if desired. Enjoy cold.
Small-blender tip: Watermelon releases a lot of liquid as it breaks down. Begin with just 60ml water and adjust only after blending, so the bottle is not too full.
Estimated nutrition
Per serving with water: Approximately 40 calories · Protein 1g · Carbohydrate 10g · Fat 0g.
Estimate based on 130g watermelon, 60ml water and a small amount of lime juice. Optional additions, coconut water and variations are excluded; exact values vary by ingredients.
Portable blending notes
Pour in the liquid first, cut fruit into small pieces and keep the total contents below the bottle's fill line. If you prefer your drink icy, chill the fruit beforehand rather than relying on ice your blender may not be designed to crush.
Can I add ice?
Chilled watermelon makes this recipe refreshing without needing ice. For ice or frozen ingredients, follow your blender's manual and never exceed its fill line.
Variations
Leave out the mint for a simple watermelon-lime drink, or substitute some of the water with unsweetened coconut water. The flavour depends on how ripe the watermelon is.
