Avocado
Chocolate Avocado Smoothie
A rich cocoa and avocado smoothie with a silky texture, made with a small amount of ripe banana for natural sweetness.
Yield: 1 small serving. Ingredient quantities are approximate; check the fill level and adjust to suit your blender.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Cold milk or unsweetened plant drink | 150ml |
| Ripe avocado flesh | 40g |
| Ripe banana, sliced | 35g |
| Unsweetened cocoa powder | 1 tsp (about 3g) |

Method
- Pour milk into the bottle and add the cocoa powder.
- Add the avocado and banana in small pieces, staying below the fill mark.
- Blend until smooth and evenly chocolate-coloured. If thick, stop and loosen with a small amount of liquid if the bottle has room.
- Serve immediately. Rinse the blender promptly because avocado residue can cling to surfaces.
Make it your own: For a more cocoa-forward flavour, use slightly less banana. Try a small pinch of cinnamon for warmth. Shaved dark chocolate makes an optional garnish after blending, as illustrated in the ingredient photograph. Avoid adding large frozen blocks unless your model's manual specifically allows them.
Nutrition notes
Nutrition varies with ingredient brands and portions. This recipe has not been kitchen-tested or nutritionally analysed, so no specific calorie or macronutrient claims are made.
Portable blending notes
Use soft, ripe avocado without the skin or stone. Blend one small serving rather than packing the bottle too tightly. Check the instructions for your particular model, stay below its maximum fill line and never force a stalled blend.

Preparation and total times are indicative when provided; advance cooling, cooking or soaking may take longer. Nutrition information, where shown, is an estimate that varies with exact ingredients and quantities. Follow the safety instructions and fill line for your blender model.
For compact blending, add liquid first and cut firmer ingredients into smaller pieces. If the mixture is too thick to circulate, add a small splash of liquid and blend again.
